Please visit the site of the <a href="http://gpso.wordpress.com/" rel="nofollow">Global Population Speak Out</a>.

If you agree that a healthy and stable population is a prerequisite to long term ecological sustainability – and that there needs to be more positive public discussion about addressing the size and growth of human population (214,000 net people added per day, 78 million per year)—then please join our month-long efforts in February 2010.

"Fortunately, we could stabilize human population with three simple and socially beneficial policies worldwide: Women’s rights, contraception, and education."

I suppose that you realize that sexism is still not a crime. Today is the anniversary of École Polytechnique Massacre. As Élaine Audet describes it in her article at Sisyphe.org, feminists feel very alone:

"Sauf le compagnon de Maryse Laganière, Jean-François Larivée, Martin Dufresne, quelques rares journalistes, artistes et intellectuels, il n’y a pas eu beaucoup d’hommes qui se sont publiquement rangés du côté des femmes et des féministes..."
http://sisyphe.org/spip.php?article3214

How come the Greens are not on the feminists' side? In one of your essays, "family" was translated "frères" (brothers)*, the sister part being dropped. I stopped reading them in French since and go read you in English on the US/international site. (Micheline Carrier, a great feminist and the main editor of Sisyphe site, is an expert in the neutralization of the French language.)

If sexism was criminalized, religions could not be practiced the way they are, and world population could be reduced dramatically. But feminists won't be able to do this alone. It seems green men could be the most motivated to take part in the criminalization efforts--unless as I already heard another feminist say they are too much attached to their porn.

One of main reason of the historic formation of the borders and the states was and still is to capture and distribute the resources. This very factor will keep Rex's math a theory, I think. One thing at least is positive about the globalization is the global sharing of the information. It could stipulate new way of the decision making, new ideas for a new "post resources" arrangements in the world.

The only viable solution to Rex's inspired and inspiring analysis is the historic injunction of sages, avatars and prophets past, recently refreshed for our generation by the fab 4. “All we need is love” And therein lies the solution that Rex’s lucidly explained equations are raising. Amazing how difficult it is for this age old instruction to take hold, maybe the only way we shall be persuaded to become our brothers keeper, is when we appreciate that our very existence actually depends on our ability to implement this fundamental injunction. The challenge: How to crystalize this realization into the mass consciousness? Maybe brother Rex can offer some pointers? Let’s pray it doesn’t take eco - armagagedon to get this point home, because then it will be too late! Or will it? "Peace ‘n love" to Rex and the greenpeace family. Please keep up your wonderfull good work.

Mutual Aid! Capitalism will always encourage consumption. Instead of trying to "fix" capitalism by giving it "compassion" we need to find other ways. Many anarchist thinkers like Proudhon and Kropotkin have written about this much more eleqountly than I can, but alternatives are marginalised and beyond the common vision of our society. I have no faith that our market based solutions such as cap-and-trade will work, economic growth and "the national interest" will work against any true and equitable soloution to the oncoming crisis

I like your Deep Green blog but cannot seem to find it on the Greenpeace site anymore.

<strong>Rex Weyler</strong>: Yes, the "Deep Green" blog is still on the <a href="http://www.greenpeace.org/international/about/deep-green" rel="nofollow">Greenpeace International website</a>. Here is the link:
