SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio — Three people have died in a plane crash that happened Friday morning in Scioto County.
The crash happened in the area of State Route 104 and Sheep Ranch Hollow.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the single-engine Lancair Evolution with three people aboard crashed at 10:45 a.m. near McDermott.
Air traffic control lost radio and radar contact with the aircraft shortly before the crash.
The FAA said the plane was flying from Bellefontaine to Charleston, S.C.
According to Scioto County EMS Director Larry Mullins, two adults and one child were killed. Their names have not been released at this time.
He said the small four-seater plane was destroyed on impact and burned up.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
