If you remember “In Fountains of Wayne” which was started in 1995, by Mr. Schlesinger and Chris Collingwood, a novelistic form of hummable pop-rock in a style derived from the Kinks and from 1970s groups like Big Star and the Cars, now the sad news for you guys that Adam Schlesinger died due to the coronavirus.
According to Adam’s, the cause was complications of the coronavirus. The singer and songwriter had an award-winning second career. His band was well known for its hit “Stacy’s mom” which was a humorous track on a young boy has a crush on his friend’s mother, and the song was also nominated for a Grammy Award.
They also co-wrote the title track of 1996 Tom Hanks film “That Thing You Do,” and received Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for his work. Talking about hit recent work, he also won Emmy last year for a song he co-wrote for CW’s “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” and also he wrote more than 100 songs and got many nominations for the show.
As per the statement by hid family on Twitter confirmed that Schlesinger was diagnosed with Covid-19. Schlesinger was put on a ventilator and sedated “to facilitate his recovery,” they also added “He is receiving excellent care, his condition is improving, and we are cautiously optimistic,” the statement said. “His family appreciates all of the love and support.”
When many people from music industry and beyond well wishes for its illness and did word of his passing as the singer was dealing with coronavirus.
“I am grasping for the right words. My dear friend Adam Schlesinger has passed away from Covid-19,” wrote Dashboard Confessional singer Chris Carrabba on Twitter. “I knew him best as a mentor and a friend.”
He added: “We must take this seriously. People are sick and dying. It is hard to stay locked indoors, but lives will be saved. Take care of each other. Rest In Peace, my dear friend.”
Currently, he was writing the lyrics and working on the music for the new production with comedian Sarah Silverman. When he died, his two daughters, Sadie and Claire, his life partner Alexis Morley, his parents Barbara and Stephen Schlesinger and his sister Lauren was with him.
