The per-day cases of covid infected people have been risen abruptly and reached the all-time maximum of 25,476 cases in the national capital of the country. Whenever matters of national importance and security are talked about, the national capital always holds a special and privileged position in matters of concern. Following the trend, the speed with which the cases of infected personnel have started increasing in Delhi has become a great matter of concern for both the central and Delhi’s government.
The wife of the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal named Sunita Kejriwal has tested positive on a Tuesday morning. The lockdown was announced by the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Monday night amid the increasing number of cases in the state as well as the intense pressure which was building on the medical team and infrastructure of Delhi. The shortage of oxygen cylinders has also been a major issue in the country amid the spike of Covid cases.
In order to curb the surge in the cases, the Chief Minister of New Delhi and the Aam Admi Party Supremo Arvind Kejriwal has declared the week-long lockdown. The Chief Minister announced that the lockdown would come into force from Monday 10 pm till 5 am next Monday which means till the morning of 26th April., Delhi would be under complete lockdown. All the essential services, food services and medical service would be working as per their routine.
The time which would be gained from the lockdown would be devoted solely towards the gathering of the resources like oxygen cylinders and more beds for the patients. CM Kejriwal even showed gratitude to the central government for giving a helping hand to the state at such times of crisis. The Chief Minister has also urged the labour and workers to not leave the capital as this lockdown would not extend and definitely, the government would be helping them.
The critical steps of lockdown on weekends was taken on the basis of the sudden increase in the number of cases of Covid-19 affected people. The pressure which it has been making on the medical facilities and infrastructure along with the related staff is really tremendous which also needs to be kept in the notice. As on record, the number stands out to cross the 26,000 marks as of 20th April 2021. The number of cases really shook the Chief Minister as well as the people concerned as it was really an unexpected thing to happen.
