Cleveland Indians to host inaugural

CLEVELAND — Editor’s note: the video in the player above is from a previous story.

The Cleveland Indians will be in Chicago on July 31. But that won’t stop fans from being inside of Progressive Field.

While the Indians are facing the White Sox, Progressive Field will be hosting its inaugural ‘Grand Slam Beerfest.” According to a release, the baseball-themed event, which will feature two separate sessions, will give fans the opportunity to sample more than 150 craft beers, wines and cocktails while checking out the ballpark. Presented in partnership with Cleveland Beerfest and benefitting The Music Settlement of Cleveland, the event “will celebrate Cleveland’s brewing history and future.”

“We are excited to bring such a fun and unique experience to Progressive Field, and to partner with the Cleveland Beerfest folks who have been at this since 2013,” said Director of Special Events Caitlyn Burkart. “It also gives us another great benefit for our Season Ticket Holders who will have priority access to purchase tickets and receive a discount. We hope to see this become a great annual special event for all to enjoy!”

A presale for Indians season ticket holders will take place on Friday, May 7, with tickets going on sale to the general public at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 10. Tickets and more information on the event can be found at www.GrandSlamBeerfest.com.
