MARION, Ohio — On Tuesday morning Buckeye Chuck predicted an early spring as Ohio’s state groundhog didn’t see his shadow.

Buckeye Chuck has been predicting what the following six weeks of climate have in retailer for us since 1979 when he grew to become Ohio’s official groundhog.

Here is how Chuck makes his predictions: if he sees his shadow, Ohioans will face one other six weeks of winter-like climate. If he would not see his shadow, spring will come early.
