Discount Drug Mart has announced it will take over the pharmacy operations at the Cleveland State University Wolstein Center COVID-19 vaccine site in Downtown Cleveland through June 7, 2021.

The state of Ohio chose Discount Drug Mart to continue the job that the Cleveland Clinic has been performing since the start of the operation at Cleveland State University back in March 2021. Discount Drug Mart says it will begin to manage those pharmacy operations, in coordination with the Ohio Department of Health, the Ohio National Guard, and the Ohio Emergency Management Agency, with support from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the United States Department of Defense, Cleveland State University, the City of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County.

Discount Drug Mart says, it has already administered more than 300,000 COVID-19 vaccinations so far, and that number continues to grow every day. It has also helped dozens of homebound Ohioans who had few options when it came to getting a COVID-19 vaccine. Discount Drug Mart pharmacists were also the first health care providers to vaccinate teachers in Ohio. They have also been a leader in workplace vaccine distribution, and clinics for both high school and college students across the state.

Discount Drug Mart is headquartered in Medina. The chain operates 76 store locations, employing 225 pharmacists and more than 4,400 store employees, all in the state of Ohio.
