East Cleveland police searching for 2-year-old taken inside of a stolen car

The child’s mother told police that her ex-boyfriend stole her car while her child was inside.

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — The East Cleveland Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating a two-year-old who was inside of a vehicle stolen on Monday morning in the 16000 block of Elderwood Avenue. 

According to police, two-year-old Major Johnson was last seen wearing a grey and white shirt and was in the back seat of his mother’s 2010 white Ford Fusion, license plate ‘L399591,’ which was taken around 12:20 p.m. 

At this time, police have identified 40-year-old Gerald Toney as a person of interest in this case. 

Toney, the ex-boyfriend of Major’s mother, is described as 5’7 and 210 pounds, with brown eyes, brown hair, and dark skin.
