Regé-Jean Page isn’t returning for Bridgerton season 2, but the show’s breakout star has other projects in the works, including a Netflix title.
Regé-Jean Page certainly made a name for himself in Bridgerton, but he has a few notable upcoming acting roles that will appeal to fans. The actor rose to popularity portraying Simon Bassett, the Duke of Hastings, in season 1 of Netflix’s period drama. Granted, the London native got his start in acting at a much earlier age, attending a drama school before beginning his career in theatre. Page’s first professional role came in 2004, appearing in the short film titled Troublemaker.
About a decade later, Page’s acting career picked up. Aside from appearing in 2015’s Survival and multiple episodes of Fresh Meat, Page starred in the British drama Waterloo Road, playing Guy Braxton. From there, he moved on to History Channel’s remake of Roots, portraying Chicken George. Page would then be recognized for playing the part of Captain Khora in 2018’s Mortal Engines, in addition to his starring role of Leonard Knox in the TV series, For the People. A few days before Bridgerton debuted, Page’s drama film, Sylvie’s Love, hit Amazon Prime before a February 2021 hosting gig on Saturday Night Live.

Though Page won’t be returning for Bridgerton season 2, the series’ breakout star has more projects in the works. At the time of writing, the actor only has two confirmed projects forthcoming, but there will surely be more. Page is already being connected to becoming the James Bond replacement, and it’s only a matter of time before he’s rumored for a major franchise role like the MCU or Star Wars. With his star on the rise, his name will undoubtedly be everywhere, but for now, here’s where viewers can see him next.
The Gray Man – TBA
Shortly after gaining popularity stemming from Bridgerton, Page was cast in another Netflix project. Rather than another TV series, the actor is set to star in Anthony and Joe Russo’s upcoming action thriller film, The Gray Man. Based on Mark Greaney’s 2009 novel of the same name, The Gray Man follows a CIA agent who becomes a fugitive after his own peers betray him. Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans play the lead roles in The Gray Man, while the supporting cast also includes Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Billy Bob Thornton, and Alfre Woodard. Though there are no details regarding Page’s role, The Gray Man is said to be Netflix’s most expensive film to date.
Dungeons & Dragons – March 3, 2023
Aside from The Gray Man, Page was also cast in the untitled Dungeons & Dragons film not long after Bridgerton was released. Directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, the project will serve as a reboot of the movies based on the popular tabletop game. The fantasy project has been in development since 2013 before Paramount Pictures took over. The crew is remaining tight-lipped regarding the plot, but it’s been announced that Regé-Jean Page will work alongside the likes of Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, Hugh Grant, and Sophia Lillis for the film. Filming for the Dungeons & Dragons reboot commenced in the spring of 2021 in Iceland before plans to move production to Northern Ireland with a March 2023 targeted release date.
