Former heavyweight champion Leon Spinks Jr. dies at 67

LAS VEGAS — LAS VEGAS (AP) — Former heavyweight champion Leon Spinks Jr. has died after battling prostate and different cancers.

 He was 67. A launch from a public relations agency says Spinks died Friday night time. 

His spouse, Brenda Glur Spinks, and some shut mates and different relations have been by his aspect when he handed away.

Spinks received gold on the 1976 Montreal Olympics.

However he rose in prominence when he beat Muhammad Ali for the heavyweight title in 1978.
