Garfield Heights police: Man arrested in uncle’s shooting death

The Garfield Heights Police Department issued a press release Monday saying officers responded to the Turney Town parking lot Friday in reference to shots fired and a man down. Upon their arrival, officers found James Henry Holland with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

He was taken to Marymount Hospital before being taken via LifeFlight to Metro. He was later pronounced dead at 6:45 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators learned the suspected shooter was Holland’s nephew — identified as Nyles Flowers – who had allegedly fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Following a statewide alert for Flowers and his vehicle, he was located in Cambridge on Saturday by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and taken into custody without incident.

He’s currently in the Garfield Heights City Jail with charges pending.

No additional details were immediately available, but we will update this story once more information is released.
