Georgia boy mows lawns of elderly, disabled and veterans for free

Jesse Ward, 9, has spent the final two weeks mowing lawns for members of his group

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — For the previous two weeks, 9-year-old Jesse Ward has helped out members of his group.

He mows lawns for the aged, disabled, veterans and single moms.

“Some individuals, they can not lower their grass, they’ve to rent someone to do it,” Ward mentioned. “I am doing this at no cost.”

He is collaborating in a service initiative referred to as the 50 Yard Problem, which was based by Rodney Smith from Alabama.

Smith encourages youth ages 7-17 to mow 50 lawns of their communities freed from cost. He mails every child a t-shirt, earplugs and security glasses to get them began.

To this point he is mowed three lawns – two for single moms and one for an aged couple.

Jesse plans to chop all 50 yards by the top of October. Everybody has been grateful for his good deed.

“One particular person mentioned, ‘That is the most effective my yard has ever seemed.’ After which the opposite particular person mentioned, ‘My yard appears actually good, thanks,'” he mentioned.

Jesse’s household has been supportive alongside the way in which. His mother, Jennifer Ward, created a Fb web page for Jesse to doc his progress and to attach with individuals needing their garden completed.

“He enjoys doing it. Simply because he feels good about himself doing it, like paying it ahead for somebody, so it makes me really feel good that it makes him blissful,” Jennifer mentioned.
