Watch live: Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish to give State of the County address

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio — Editor’s note: Video at the top of the story was originally published May 7 in response to the news that Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson was not seeking re-election.

How is Cuyahoga County doing when it comes to recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic? We will get an update from Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish as delivers his “State of the County” address at noon today.

The City Club of Cleveland, which is providing live coverage of the speech in the player below, says Budish is expected to discuss “efforts to support public health and safety during the pandemic, and the many ways in which the county supported residents and small businesses in the ensuing economic crisis.”

Budish will also offer his thoughts on what’s next for the county as we continue moving forward.

You can watch Budish’s “State of the County” address here:

Earlier this month, Budish announced that Cuyahoga County had secured $10 million to help renters stay in their apartments.

“It would be devastating to the county if we end up with a tsunami of evictions and people become homeless,” he said. “We can’t allow that to happen.”
