The Venom Role mod for Among Us turns the impostor into the infamous Symbiote. They can spit acid and devour crewmates using their long tongue.
The latest Among Us modding trend introduces famous villains from movies, television, games, and even comics as Impostor roles, complete with exciting new abilities. The Among Us Venom Role Mod introduces the infamous Marvel Symbiote Venom to the game. Unlike typical Among Us Impostor role mods, which tend to overpower the Impostor and make it incredibly difficult for crewmates to win, the Venom Role mod keeps each match somewhat balanced while still giving Impostors a few new powers. Most notably, Impostors as Venom gain the ability to eat their fellow crewmates.

In a match of Among Us using the Venom Role mod, the Impostor sees themselves as an Among Us version of the Venom character, complete with the sharp teeth and long tongue. Crewmates, however, still see the Impostor as a crewmate. Because of this, though the match may seem like a game of survival for crewmates at times, it keeps a lot of the social deduction, too. Crewmates still have the opportunity to catch an Impostor in the act, report a body, or vote the Impostor out. Here’s how to play the Venom Role Mod in Among Us.
How to Play as Venom in Among Us
The Among Us Venom Role Mod was created by Woodi#0555 for Socksfor1 and his friends and is currently not available for public download. Players may have luck getting into a game that uses this mod by joining a server that has it installed. Players can also always try their hand at programming a version. It is also possible that, given its popularity, other modders will eventually program a version of this mod and make it available for wider use.
When a crewmate becomes Venom in a game of Among Us with the Venom Role mod installed, they will receive four new abilities based on the comic book and movie character:
- Acid Spit: Venom creates a pool of purple acid on the ground; crewmates who walk through this puddle are immediately killed. The puddle stays on the ground for several seconds.
- Vent Camouflage: Venom can quickly teleport to the nearest Vent and use it to access a new spot on the map.
- Shapeshift: Venom can transform into any other crewmate, appearing to all other crewmates exactly like the selected crewmate.
- Digestion: Replaces the Kill button. Venom extends his long tongue and eats the nearest crewmate.
Venom can also still use the Sabotage button to strategically trap crewmates. One good option appears to be sabotaging Reactors or Oxygen and using Acid Spit right outside the door where crewmates will enter to fix these sabotages.
The Impostor will need to be very careful not to use Acid Spit or Shapeshift (or transform out of Shapeshift) while other crewmates are around. They will see this if they are close enough and will immediately know the crewmate’s identity as Venom. Alternatively, if the Impostor can manage to get the timing right, they may be able to use an ability while disguised as a crewmate, then get away before anyone sees them transform, framing the other crewmate.
Unlike some recent Among Us mods, including the Pennywise Impostor Role mod and the Godzilla Impostor Role mod, all Venom’s fatal new abilities still leave a body for crewmates to report. Crewmates can use the Report button to call a meeting and deliberate as they would in the classic version of Among Us, which could make it easier to deduce and vote out the Impostor.
