Kim Kardashian from Keeping up with the Kardashians is being sued by several former maintenance employees for not compensating them for their work. The reality star, who is currently studying to be a lawyer, may need to use her newfound skills to get her out of this legal situation. However, Kim has never been known to stiff the bill on her staff, so this may be a misunderstanding between her former employees and Kim herself.

Viewers first met Kim when she and her family starred in the E! reality series that put the Kardashian name on the map. When the show first began to air, the 40-year-old was a single woman looking for a way to find fame and fortune. She found success by hustling her way through the industry. Kim has since co-founded several businesses, including SKIMS and KKW Beauty, which made her a billionaire. Billionaires find themselves entangled in legal drama all the time.

According to Page Six, the mother of four is being sued by seven former members of the gardening and maintenance staff of her $60 million Hidden Hills mansion, accusing her of a variety of suspicious behavior. As stated in the suit filed on Monday, Kim, who has filed for divorce from Kanye West, was late with their pay, withheld 10% of their wages for taxes (which wasn’t presented to the government), refused to pay overtime, and even made them work without taking a lunch or dinner break. One 16-year-old employee claims he was forced to work past the maximum 48 hours a week for an underage employee. As a result, family members Andrew Ramirez, Christopher Ramirez, Andrew Ramirez Jr., along with Aron Cabrea, Rene Ernesto Flores, Jesse Fernandez, and Robert Araiza are suing for unpaid wages and the overtime they believe she owes.

The former employees are represented by Frank Kim of Kim Legal, who is also working with a former employee of Kim’s estranged husband in a lawsuit related to his opera. A spokesperson for the reality star told Page Six in a statement, “These workers were hired and paid through a third-party vendor hired by Kim. [She] is not party to the agreement made between the vendor and their workers, therefore she is not responsible for how the vendor manages their business and the agreements.” The statement continued, “Kim has never not paid a vendor for their services and hopes that the issue […] can be amicably resolved soon.” Kim takes a lot of pride in paying her bills on time and compensating people for their work. The staff never worked directly for Kim, so she has nothing to do with how or when they get paid.

Kim is hoping the legal matter gets resolved as soon as possible as she has nothing to do with the payment issues. As someone who takes claims to always compensate people for their work, Kim is surely hurt by the accusations. She has never missed a cell phone bill, let alone the salary of those who work at her home. Hopefully, Kim’s legal skills can come in handy for this tricky situation.
