Fans of The Mandalorian can purchase a statue capturing the moment Grogu says goodbye to Mando from season 2 of the Disney+ Star Wars drama.
Grogu and Mando’s emotional farewell has been memorialized not just on screen but in a new hand-painted Mandalorian statue. The Disney+ series takes place in the Star Wars universe five years after the events of Return of the Jedi. Pedro Pascal plays a bounty hunter who must care for a creature of the same species as Yoda, known as “The Child,” for the earlier part of the series before his name is revealed to be Grogu.
In episode 1 of the critically acclaimed space Western, Din Djarin/The Mandalorian (Pascal) hunts Grogu down and delivers him to the Empire on a job before changing his mind and rescuing the child. The companions form a bond as Din Djarin protects the child from other bounty hunters. Season 2 brings The Mandalorian’s characters closer to their respective fates while incorporating different story elements from the Star Wars movies. In season 2 episode 13, Mando learns that Grogu is a Jedi who was rescued from the Jedi temple during the purge of his people. The Mandalorian season 2 finale wrapped up at the end of 2020 with an emotional goodbye between the show’s main characters as Grogu departs to train with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).

The sad moment has now been brought to life in the form of a 9-by-5-inch statue, thanks to Sideshow and Iron Studios. The fan memorabilia company has added an art scale statue of “The Mandalorian and Grogu” to its inventory of Star Wars Collectibles, currently running for $160. Specifically, the statue captures the moment Mando holds Grogu in his arms in a farewell embrace after giving him his blessing to depart with Skywalker in the season 2 finale.
The limited-edition, 1:10 scale statue is 8.6″ high, 4.7″ wide, 3.5″ deep, and weighs just over a pound. It’s based on original references and features a hand-painted base. “The Mandalorian and Grogu” is the only statue in Sideshow’s 1:10 line that features two characters, although the previously announced Sith Trooper comes in a pack of two. The product (shown as a prototype above) is currently available for pre-order and will arrive between July and September 2022.
The Mandalorian roped in fans with its adorable “Baby Yoda” when it first premiered. The bond that has formed between Mando and Grogu lies at the core of the show, although it’s unknown what will become of the pair in The Mandalorian season 3. It seemed likely that Grogu and Mando would say goodbye at some point, but that didn’t make the scene any less emotional. Because of that, this new Sideshow collectible will be a must for a lot of Star Wars fans.
