Volume 2 of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Tomodachi Doll boxed set is available to preorder now, with an expected ship date of late 2021.
Preorders are currently live for Animal Crossing: New Horizons Tomodachi Doll Vol 2.; the boxed set of eight figurines should ship by the end of this year. Fans can still preorder the New Horizons Villager Collection Mini-Figure Set that Bandai announced several months ago as part of its Bandai Shokugan line. Though the collection originally boasted a June 2021 release window, an updated product listing on Entertainment Earth’s online shop suggests shipments won’t go out until September.
Animal Crossing as a brand has always benefited from its generally strong fan base around the world. However, the property’s popularity exploded upon the release of New Horizons last spring, reaching a level of fame that seems to transcend gaming. And it managed to do so despite the exclusivity to one platform. New Horizons‘ sales data speaks for itself, too. In February, Nintendo confirmed the latest Animal Crossing release had exceeded 31 million copies sold in less than a year. If it hasn’t already, the title may soon eclipse Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s sales total of 33.41 million.

Today, online storefront Big Bad Toy Store (via Wario64) opened preorders for the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Tomodachi Doll boxed set. The $60 collection contains eight figurines in total, immortalizing the following characters: K.K. Slider, C.J., Chrissy, Timmy, Tommy, Raymond, Francine, and Wolfgang. Each figure stands approximately 2.2 inches tall and boasts a soft and fluffy texture. The store’s product listing additionally notes that all figures will come packaged in a window box. As of now, the set is on track to release before the end of 2021.
Fans interested in purchasing the collection may want to act fast, given how quickly Animal Crossing-branded merchandise typically sells out. Scalpers are known to take advantage of in-demand products like this, too, evidenced by those who drove up prices of Animal Crossing Amiibo cards earlier in the year.
