Ohio suspends liquor license of two area bars for COVID violation

Pair of Northeast Ohio bars receive suspension of liquor licenses for violating state

The Ohio Liquor Management Fee (OLCC) has introduced its newest sequence of punishments for state institutions that violated COVID-19 protocols. Two of the restaurant/bars that have been introduced earlier than hearings and punished have been from Northeast Ohio.

In keeping with OLCC paperwork, Floods City Seafood Lounge in Warrensville Heights was present in violation of the state’s disorderly actions rule on three separate events in 2020: July 24, July 31, and December 14.

For the July 24 violation, the OLCC issued a 10-day suspension starting at midday, March 22, 2021, with the choice to pay a monetary forfeiture within the quantity of $1,000 in lieu of serving the suspension. For the July 31 violation, a 15-day suspension starting at midday, April 1, 2021 was issued with the choice to pay a monetary forfeiture within the quantity of $3,000.

The OLCC issued a 120-day suspension to Floods starting at midday, April 16, 2021, for the December 14 violation. There isn’t any choice to pay a monetary foreiture for that violation.

In the meantime, The Velvet Canine in Cleveland went earlier than the OLCC for 2 violations that occurred in December of 2020. For a disorderly violation on December 12, the OLCC handed down a 5-day suspension starting at midday, March 22, 2021, with the choice to pay a monetary forfeiture within the quantity of $1,000 in lieu of serving the suspension. A second disorderly violation on December 31 resulted within the OLCC issuing a 10-day suspension starting at midday, March 27, 2021. The Velvet Canine could have the choice to pay a monetary forfeiture within the quantity of $2,000 in lieu of serving the suspension.
