Ohioans can fish for free June 19-20; no license required

Residents may fish for free in any of Ohio’s public waters including Lake Erie and the Ohio River.

It’s almost that time of the year Ohioans who are 16 and older can fish without a license.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources announced this year’s free fishing days will be Saturday, June 19 and Sunday, June 20.

Residents may fish for free in any of Ohio’s public waters including Lake Erie and the Ohio River.

The Division of Wildlife’s six fish hatcheries stocked 46 million sport fish in public waters in 2020.
