As the New Year started, Nintendo also revealed something new and exciting during the Pokemon Direct Livestream event. Today, the 20 minutes Pokemon Direct presentation revealed a lot about the Pokemon future.
During the Pokemon Direct stream, Nintendo spokesperson told us about many new monsters coming to Pokemon Sword and Shield, the release date of Pokemon Home as well as they gave the great surprise by the unveil of classic roguelike remake.
Pokemon Home Release
The new cloud-based Pokemon storage service- Pokemon Home for Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android was announced last summer. Till then, we haven’t heard of it. But finally, the new news revealed during the Pokemon Direct about the release date of Pokemon Home. The new cloud storage service Pokemon Home is coming in February 2020. So, get ready to store monsters from Pokemon Go, Pokemon Let’s Go, and Pokemon Sword and Shield. Also, you can use the Pokemon Home to transfer your monsters from Pokemon Bank on 3DS to Home and will be available in Sword and Shield.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Returns
There was also once the announcement of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, which is the remake of the 2006 games Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team. So, this time there are mixing up both enhanced visuals and combines the two releases into one. While the main game is coming on March 6, you can download a free demo of the game right now from the Switch Eshop and play the game now as well as your progress can be saved when you purchase the full version. Well, the game is now also available for pre-order.
Pokemon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass
The biggest highlight of the Pokemon Direct Livestream was the arrival of the expansion pass for Pokemon Sword and Shield. It will add two huge new regions- The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra along with some new Pokemon, and dozens of customization options.
The Isle of Armor expansion is coming in June, and The Crown Tundra will follow this fall. Though the studio showed lots of old returning Pokemon and concept art for tons of new Pokemon and Gigantamax forms, it teased only three new monsters by name. You will be able to enjoy the new content of expansion pass from June, but the Sword and Shield free update is now available, which allows you to get some glimpse of the new content. You can see new rival–the Poison-type Klara for Sword players, or the Psychic-type Avery for Shield players when you visit the train station. Also, the player can find a Galarian Slowpoke and catch them as well. The great thing is you can also catch both new and classic Legendary Pokemon in the Crown Tundra expansion, where you can explore the Pokemon dens with a new co-op element.
If you want to enjoy the expansion pass, it’s available to pre-order at $30 USD from the Switch Eshop. With the pre-order, you will also get a special reward- a Pikachu uniform and Eevee uniform for your trainer. Once you make the purchase, you will get a code via mail, and then you can redeem it in the game via Mystery Gift.
