Reddit Banned 2,000 Subreddits, Including a “Dirtbag Left” Community

When speaking to reporters on their new coverage modifications, Steve Huffman, the CEO of Reddit, confessed that this new change has been a little bit of a problem for him internally as a result of his beliefs in free speech. “I’ve to confess that I’ve struggled with balancing my values as an American, and round free speech and free expression, with my values and the corporate’s values round widespread human decency,” he stated.

Reddit’s new coverage begins with a primary rule that requires customers to actually think about humanity, writing “think about the human.” It reads: “Keep in mind the human. Reddit is a spot for creating group and belonging, not for attacking marginalized or weak teams of individuals. Everybody has a proper to make use of Reddit freed from harassment, bullying, and threats of violence. Communities and those who incite violence or that promote hate based mostly on id or vulnerability might be banned.”
