At the beginning of That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime, Rimuru Tempest is little more than a lowly slime monster with few skills or powerful abilities. Thanks to his predation ability, and the help of his internal guide, Great Sage, Rimuru quickly levels up and becomes a much more formidable opponent, acquiring unique skills and magical powers along the way.
By the end of season 2, Rimuru has advanced to the point that he is on the same level as a True Demon Lord. This evolution has granted Rimuru even more amazing abilities and magnified his power to a level not yet seen in the series. His development is such that he may soon approach the level of godhood before the series comes to a close.
10 Gluttonous King Beelzebuth
Gained after the skill Gluttony absorbed the skill Merciless, Gluttonous King Beelzebuth buffed Rimuru’s existing skill Glutton to even higher levels. One of the skills it grants which serves as Rimuru’s primary get-out-of-jail-free card is Predation. Predation allows Rimuru to absorb organic and inorganic matter and incorporate it into his body composition, allowing him to neutralize magic, arts, and other attacks. Once an object has been consumed using Predation, Rimuru can then follow up with his skill, Mimicry, which lets him copy his absorbed target’s skills and form. This is Rimuru’s primary method of acquiring new skills and has allowed him to progress at such a rapid pace since he reincarnated as a slime.
9 Wisdom King Raphael
Upon evolving into a True Demon Lord, Rimuru’s skills Great Sage and Degenerate fused together and upgraded into the skill Wisdom King Raphael. Mind Accelerate buffs Rimuru’s mental capacity and processing, allowing him to increase his rate of thinking a thousandfold, while Analyze and Assess lets Rimuru create a strategy in the blink of an eye. Meanwhile, Wisdom King Raphael (formerly Great Sage) serves as Rimuru’s primary source of knowledge about his new home and opponents, granting him some useful insight into many situations.
8 God’s Wrath (Megiddo)
Although it has only been seen on one occasion, God’s Wrath or Megiddo quickly made an indelible impression on fans of the series. Rimuru used this skill to decimate the entire army of the Kingdom of Falmuth in a matter of seconds. Megiddo works by creating dozens of large constructs made out of water that act as a magnifying glass.

The lenses can be adjusted in terms of size and frequency to focus on either a single or a thousand targets, making them extremely versatile. Also, since the attack shoots a physical projectile, it ignores magical resistance, making Megiddo one of the most terrifying abilities in Rimuru’s arsenal.
7 Multilayer Barrier
Every magic-user worth their salt has access to a litany of spells that may come in handy depending on the situation. One classic spell that stands out is a barrier spell. Rimuru’s multilayer barrier is an enhanced version of his barrier skill and allows him to create a number of thin Ranged Barriers made of magicules. These barriers can be instantly recreated if broken and allow him to cover his entire body in thin, protective layers. The barrier proves critical in keeping Rimuru alive against all sorts of magical and physical attacks and grants him resistance to a number of elemental abilities.
6 Infinite Regeneration
Prior to becoming a True Demon Lord, Rimuru was already incredibly durable thanks to his Self-Regeneration skill, which allowed him to regenerate from injuries. This skill was further upgraded after his evolution and buffed into its current form, Infinite Regeneration. Rimuru is now able to regenerate from wounds even faster than before, granting him further effectiveness in combat. Also, in addition to regenerating wounds and limbs, Infinite Regernation allows Rimuru to heal from the damage inflicted on his spiritual body, which means he is no longer as threatened by Hinata Sakaguchi’s Dead End Rainbow. This ability practically makes Rimuru invulnerable to long-term harm, which is a major advantage in any life or death situation.
5 Universal Detect
Any long-time player of Dungeons and Dragons will attest that Perception is one of the best skills in the game, as it grants the user the ability to detect enemies, objects of interest, and other significant features of the environment. Rimuru’s version of Perception is called Universal Detect which is a multi-purpose skill that imbues them with a keen sense of smell, hearing, heat vision, and magical sensitivity. This ability effectively turns Rimuru into a walking radar.
4 Universal Shapeshift
Polymorph is a versatile technique that can transform the user into almost anything imaginable, from a terrifying dragon to an ordinary salt shaker. In Rimuru’s case, his ability Universal Shapeshift enables him to transform any parts of his body into the parts of a different species or inorganic object. This skill is also what allows Rimuru to shapeshift into his human form, which allows him to blend into environments much more easily than his natural slime form. Overall, it’s a very versatile ability with both social and combat applications.
3 Spatial Motion
Rimuru’s Spatial Motion ability mimics the effects of teleportation, allowing him to instantly travel to a place he has visited before. While there are limitations to using Spatial Motion, namely that he has to have previously visited a place in order to teleport to that location, the utility granted by teleportation is immense. It has the potential to not only save Rimuru enormous amounts of time and energy but also may be used in combat to confuse and disorient his enemies.
2 Cancel Pain
Cancel Pain grants Rimuru immunity to pain, giving him the ability to shrug off attacks. This is crucial in controlling the momentum of a fight and was used by Rimuru to full effect in his fight with Hinata Sakaguchi. During their fight, Hinata hit Rimuru multiple times with her sword, Dead End Rainbow, which attacks her opponent’s spiritual body. Rimuru’s ability allowed him to ignore that pain and keep fighting her to a stalemate.
1 Darkflame Lightning
Two of Rimuru’s most powerful attack abilities, Dark Flame and Dark Thunder, were upgraded when he evolved into a True Demon Lord. Together, they combined to make Darkflame Lightning. Dark Flame enabled Rimuru to create flames that prevented the target from regenerating, which Rimuru put to good use in his fight against the Orc Disaster Geld.
