CLEVELAND — With police reform and violent crime top of mind in the city of Cleveland, the United Way of Greater Cleveland and the NAACP – Cleveland Branch are co-sponsoring a Consent Decree Community Conversation tonight.
This evening’s conversation will be moderated by 3News anchor and managing editor Russ Mitchell and will focus on bias-free policing and racial profiling.
The event will take place from 6:00 p.m. -7:30 p.m. and be livestreamed on WKYC.com, the WKYC app, Facebook Live, and YouTube. Here are tonight’s panelists who will be joining Russ Mitchell:
The Consent Decree is an agreement made six years ago between the city of Cleveland and the U.S. Department of Justice, following a 21-month long investigation. The Cleveland Division of Police is required to commit to ongoing engagement with the community and to make a number of fundamental changes to its policies, practices and procedures.
