Some of ‘No Time to Die’ Is Set in Havana — Did the New 007 Movie Film in Cuba?

Sadly, No Time to Die was not filmed on location in Cuba in any respect. The large motion sequence early on within the film that has Bond firing at enemies throughout him was truly shot in England.

The unbelievable set was painstakingly constructed by a group of set designers within the coronary heart of Pinewood Studios, about an hour outdoors of London. Streets and buildings have been meticulously constructed to resemble Havana, full with hand-printed propaganda slogans and refurbished mid-century American vehicles.

The rationale the manufacturing had problem securing permits to shoot on the island was attributable to Cuba’s depiction within the film. Within the fictionalized universe of No Time to Die, relations between the U.S. and Cuba are extraordinarily tense, and it is attributable to this adverse portrayal that the film wasn’t capable of shoot on location.

Cuban-born actress Ana de Armas, who joins the manufacturing as Bond lady Paloma, hoped to carry the manufacturing to her dwelling nation to “share this expertise with my folks” and “get a Cuban crew in there.”

“They’d have been very excited and proud,” she mentioned.

However the crew did such a great job on the Cuban set that she would generally neglect the place she was and attempt to communicate to the extras in Spanish, Ana recalled.
