Sony’s Vision-S: The First Electronic Concept Car Unveiled At CES 2020

One of the most significant announcements at the CES 2020 was Sony’s first electronic concept car, “Vision-S.” Yes, you heard it right! Sony revealed the futuristic car at the CES 2020 keynote with the Vision-S prototype, an EV concept.

As the New Year has just started, Sony made a huge announcement with the unveiling of the Sony Car- the Vision-S Prototype. The company’s electrical concept design is especially considered safety, entertainment, and adaptability together during the driving and riding experience. For that, Sony collaborated with some well-know tech leaders to build the new EV platform, which are Bosch, Continental, Genetex, Nvidia, Magna, and Nvidia. This can also be used in vehicle segments like SUVs and MPVs.

Talking more about the Sony Vision-S Car features, it will have 33 different sensors inside and outside of the car, numerous widescreen displays, 360 audio, and always-on connectivity, with some pieces coming from industry players like BlackBerry and Bosch. The Vision-S’s outside has come strong Porsche vibes, particularly around the headlights, and inside the profile, it fairly looks like the Lucid Motors Air. Also, it has a dashboard-spanning screen, much like the one that Chinese EV startup Byton.

Inside the new Vision-S will give a complete living room like the feel and the 360 Reality Audio fills the car with sound while a dash-wide display offers plenty of space for entertainment on the go. This new car is powered by two 200 kW electric motors, one on each axle. The top speed is 240 kmph, and it can get to 100 kmph from standstill in 4.8s. The four-seater sits on 21-inch wheels, weighing 2,350 kg.
