Sumter woman charged after newborn dies with meth in system



SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — A Sumter County lady has been charged after her new child little one died with meth in its system. 

On October 19, 2020, authorities say Tricia Lynn Yazici, 23, of Dalzell, gave beginning to a 25-week-old little one who examined optimistic for methamphetamine. The kid died later that day.  

Deputies say an post-mortem performed by the Medical College of South Carolina signifies the kid’s loss of life was brought on by Yazici’s drug use.

“It’s tragic that the defendant’s drug abuse led to the loss of life of her little one,” Sheriff Anthony Dennis stated. “We all know that drug abuse can destroy a life however it’s much more painful to be taught {that a} little one’s life is misplaced due to it.”

Yazici is charged with murder by little one abuse.
