Twinsburg’s annual Twins Days Festival, billed as “the largest annual gathering of twins in the world,” officially returns this weekend after a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The three-day event brings twins from all over, but there’s plenty to do no matter your birth status.

This year’s theme is “The Roaring Twinties,” with attendees urged to celebrate the new decade by dressing up in classic clothes from roughly 100 years ago. “Think Art Deco, ‘The Great Gatsby,’ flappers, gangsters, jazz music, speakeasies, and the era of classic silent movies.” As always, costumes must be family friendly.

The festivities kicked off Friday, with several twin-specific events including a golf outing, raffle, and even a corn hole tournament. The rest of the town got to join the fun Saturday morning beginning with the “Double Take Parade” along with amusement rides, games, plenty of good food, and a fireworks display. Things wrap up Sunday with the 5K walk benefitting Empower Sports.

Twinsburg is named after identical twins Moses and Aaron Wilcox, who in the 19th century owned much of the land in the city. The first Twins Days was held in 1976, and has grown from just 36 sets of twin that inaugural year to more than 2,000 today, along with scores of locals.
