From the last few months, we have heard a lot about the upcoming OnePlus 8 device. Earlier, we discuss a lot of about OnePlus 8 price, feature, and release date. But now, the latest report confirmed the primary feature of the next OnePlus 8.
Previously there were only rumours roaming around about the 5G support on OnePlus 8. But recently, the OnePlus CEO Pete Lau reveals that the upcoming OnePlus 8 will centre around 5G.
Yes, that’s confirmed as he said “I want to restate our commitment to 5G and our long term investment,” also added “We’ve been investing in 5G for several years and we see this as the direction going forward and one we’re very much committed to.”
According to MySmartPrice, the upcoming OnePlus 8 is the “flagship killer” which now certified by TENAA, one of the Chine’s telecommunications equipment certification agencies.
Therefore, we can assume that the company will launch its upcoming device within six months of period considering the certificate. So we can expect the release of new OnePlus 8 during the May event if the company follows its own pattern, which means we can expect it in earlier Q2 of 2020.
With this latest development, it’s guaranteed that OnePlus will be launching these phones within six months before the certification becomes invalid, which isn’t surprising considering the company’s historical preference for the May launch window. However, it also fits nicely with more recent leaks that point to an earlier Q2 2020 debut.
As we will see the upgraded technology in the price, there will also be price hike as the CEO said that “We’ve always had a position in creating the best product possible at the best price point. The new technology does add costs, so costs have risen in comparison to 4G products.”
Talking more about the price, OnePlus 7 Pro is currently listed with the price tag of $499, so the new 5G upgrade considers the price to $840 and the premium variant to reach at $1000.
Furthermore, there would also be the budget-friendly OnePlus 8 Lite rumoured to launch along with OnePlus 8 variants. So maybe we will see the budget OnePlus 8 Lite device with 4G technology this year as Lau didn’t confirm whether the company is ditching 4G devices. The device is expected to launch alongside OnePlus 8 or later this year.
There no release date confirmed about the OnePlus 8; we most of the rumors expected the launch in April or May this year. So let’s wait and watch what company it brings this year.
