Yogananda D. Pittman joined the USCP in April 2001.
WASHINGTON — Yogananda D. Pittman is now the US Capitol Police (USCP) Performing-Police Chief, based on the up to date web site for the police division.
Pittman joined the USCP in April 2001 and has been not too long ago serving as USCP Assistant Chief of Police for Protecting and Intelligence Operations.
Her announcement as USCP Performing Police Chief comes after Steven Sund resigned final week following the US Capitol riot that noticed Trump supporters rush into the Capitol Constructing, overwhelming USCP.
In 2012, Assistant Chief Pittman was one of many first African-American girls to realize the rank of Captain, stated USCP. In June 2018, she was promoted to Deputy Chief and was named Bureau Commander for the Command and Coordination Bureau.
Pittman has expertise coordinating Presidential Inaugurations and has served management roles inside USCP that included investigating the disciplinary appeals and grievances towards USCP workers.
Pittman graduated from Morgan State College with a Bachelor of Science diploma in psychology in 1991. She earned her Grasp’s Diploma in Public Administration from Marist School in Poughkeepsie, New York, in Might 2019. She is at the moment working towards her Ph.D. in Public Administration from West Chester College, based on her biography.
