Cannon Hinnant was simply 5 years previous. His neighbor has been charged with homicide.
WILSON, N.C. — Household and neighborhood members stated goodbye to 5-year-old Cannon Hinnant on Thursday in Wilson, North Carolina.
Cannon was shot and killed in his entrance yard on Sunday. Authorities charged the neighbor, 25-year-old Darrius Sessoms, with first-degree homicide.
“We shouldn’t even be right here,” Merrill Race, Cannon’s great-grandfather, stated.
Race informed WNCN he was with Cannon just some weekends in the past. He stated his great-grandson liked using his bike and his two sisters.

Lee Parker is Cannon’s stepfather.
“The phrases to clarify… every little thing, he simply liked every little thing. All people,” Parker stated. “I might sit right here for days, I simply — there aren’t any phrases or no sum of money that’s going to carry him again.”
The taking pictures occurred on Archers Highway round 5:30 p.m. Cannon’s household stated he was using his bike when Sessoms approached and shot the kid within the head. Sessoms took off however was arrested Monday in Goldsboro.
The boy’s father stated Sessoms was their neighbor for years and so they’d shared a beer the night time earlier than. The household informed WNCN there was no historical past of fights or unhealthy emotions, and the taking pictures did not make sense.
Police haven’t launched a motive for the taking pictures.
