Courtney Ames from 16 and Pregnant struggled during her episode, but she, Scott Snody, and their child are thriving after season five. Their difficult chapter was showcased by MTV in 2014. Courtney was introduced to the world as a 17-year-old high school senior from Woodland Park, Ohio. She was pregnant with her boyfriend Scott’s baby. Since starring on 16 and Pregnant, Courtney and Scott have weathered many storms and come out stronger.
16 and Pregnant is a series that’s known for its dramatic storylines, and Courtney’s pregnancy with Scott’s child was filled to the brim with unforgettable moments. The primary bone of contention for the couple during their teenage pregnancy was Courtney’s decision to practice abstinence until marriage. While she did have an early-life pregnancy, Courtney felt it was important to follow strict guidelines that aligned with her faith. Unfortunately, Courtney’s decision to abstain from sex frustrated Scott. The couple’s relationship became visibly strained. Additionally, Courtney was worried that her baby would be born with a cleft lip, as she had been. The 16 and Pregnant alum shared that she was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate. Those issues were corrected, but years of surgery were needed. Courtney’s fears were confirmed when a sonogram revealed that her child had similar issues.

While preparing for the baby, Courtney and Scott experienced the kind of relationship drama that is common to show alumni. such as Maci Bookout (who’s been slammed for putting her 11-year-old on a strict diet). In an effort to create a more traditional family household for their incoming baby, Courtney moved in with Scott. Determined to remain abstinent until she’s married, Courtney refused to share a bed with Scott. The two slept in separate bedrooms, which further strained their relationship. On December 15, 2013, Courtney gave birth to her son Dayton Cash. He was born healthy, with a cleft lip that could be repaired during a single procedure. Following the birth of Dayton, Courtney and Scott’s relationship appeared unstable. The two squabbled over household chores and Courtney’s commitment to abstinence.
Since MTV left Courtney and Scott in 2014, the couple has come a long way. After wrapping the reality series, the parents split. However, they rekindled their relationship and married in 2017. During the same year that fellow 16 and Pregnant Star Aleah LeBeouf became pregnant with her second child, Courtney and Scott announced that they were expecting another baby. The now-married couple welcomed their second son Porter Cove on October 20, 2017. Since welcoming their second son, Courtney and Scott have stayed out of the headlines and away from social media. As for Dayton, the 7-year-old has successfully undergone an operation to correct his cleft lip.
At the end of the day, Courtney and Scott’s relationship woes turned out to be nothing more than hurdles in what would become their decade-long marathon of a relationship.
