Wellington Paranormal premieres on The CW on Sunday, July 11, 2021, and will hit the streaming platform, HBO Max, on the following day.
The upcoming What We Do in the Shadows spinoff titled, Wellington Paranormal, is set to premiere on The CW in July. What We Do in the Shadows, which first premiered on FX in 2019, is a horror-comedy mockumentary series that follows the lives of three vampires who have been living together in Staten Island for over 100 years. The series has two seasons under its belt with a third on the way.
Horror news site, Bloody Disgusting, confirmed that Wellington Paranormal will premiere in the US in July. Since it was acquired by both The CW and HBO Max, it will have two separate premiere dates with each platform. It will first premiere on The CW on Sunday, July 11, and then it will be available on HBO Max the following day. The first season will feature half-hour episodes of gullible police officers, Mike Minogue and Karen O’Leary, as they attempt to protect their citizens from paranormal forces.
Wellington Paranormal season 3 recently premiered on the TVNZ 2 network. The show has already been renewed for season 4 with filming underway. What We Do in the Shadows has been successful in the US and seemingly has a similar tone, so it’s likely that Wellington Paranormal will also do well in the US.
