While writing this article, coronavirus confirmed infected cases number touched 1,030,520 and death 54,226. From the last 20 days, we have been hearing about clean hands frequently with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
Even World Health Organization says that new coronavirus is a respiratory virus that spreads primarily through droplets generated when an infected person coughs or sneezes or through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose.
Well, many people are also asking that “Can the coronavirus disease spread through air?” even I was wondering that the same question. But recently, The World Health Organization (WHO) recommended people to use the mask after one MIT study revealed that coronavirus inside droplets emitted with a cough or a sneeze could “travel” in the air for much wider (around 8 meters) distances than you think.
David Heymann, The infectious disease expert and president of a group of WHO consultants recently told BBC that the COVID-19 even evaluate whether so it is necessary more everyone to wear masks to minimize the spread of this deadly disease and he added “WHO is reopening the discussion by examining new evidence to see if there should be a change in the way it recommends the use of masks,”
Furthermore, he also specifies that the smaller microparticles can “travel” in the air even for much longer distances. And also added, “it is possible that wearing a mask is just as effective or more effective than interpersonal distance”.
So if you are not wearing a mask while roaming outside for food or something else, then WHO is giving great advice to wear a mask when you go outside.
